Background:
Case studies are an important learning tool for training in a number of sectors, professions and industries, but there are often limitations in case study implementation. In collaboration with researchers at Western University, WORLDiscoveries conceptualized the Ipherio online game engine to deliver case studies through a game based approach.
Description of the Invention:
Originating as an online interprofessional education (IPE) game that allows teams to work through different types of case studies applicable to health and social care professions, Ipherio is the optimal online game engine for solo or team-based case studies with broad multidisciplinary appeal.
Ipherio functions to deliver case-study-based educational content in an online game format for any sector or discipline, i.e. health, social care, business, law, engineering, ethics, and many others. Via its innovative online game format, the Ipherio engine fosters learning and exploration of educational content in a new and exciting way. Ipherio offers options for team or individual play, allowing for a customizable experience. Ipherio guides players through case studies in ways that are fun and engaging, resulting in superior case study delivery when compared to more traditional case study learning aids.
Advantages:
